Please read through our Terms and Conditions and feel free to voice and issues that may arise. It is also important to let us know of any Terms and Conditions, or expectations of your own that you would wish to be included before work begins.
1. All work is to be agreed by both the contractor (us) and the client (you) before any work commences.
2. In the event of unforeseen difficulties arising, or any other circumstantial changes, the quotation price or estimated cost may be revised to reflect the situation at hand before or after commencement of work, this must be discussed and agreed by both parties before the changes are made to avoid any unexpected bills.
3. If the client wishes to change anything then this also must be agreed by both parties and extra cost will be agreed before the work is carried out.
4. Any issues regarding any works please inform us at the time as we cannot rectify certain things after the fact, we do not hold any responsibility for if matters are not brought to our attention within 2 days of the issue arising.
5. A 10% finder’s fee will be added to all material costs to cover the time finding and ordering materials.
6. Quotes and estimates are only valid for 14 days.
7. Both contractor and client are to agree practical arrangements on working methods and times that provide minimum disruption to the client and allow work to be carried out efficiently by the contractor.
8. Free access is required for delivery of building materials, plant, machinery and skips etc.
9. All building and other materials provided by the contractor remain property of GHM Joinery & Building Services Ltd until full and final payment is received via Bank Transfer or Cash.
10. Access to collection of used or unused building materials, equipment and plant etc. remains in place until full and cleared final payment is received.
11. Deposits are required to secure your booking, deposits are material costs so vary per job but will be clearly stated to you (the client). Deposits are due to be paid 7 days before commencement of work; delay in deposits may result in the loss of your dates.
12. Invoices will be issued on completion of works or for larger jobs weekly and payments are due on invoice date.
13. Any monies being held after this timescale will be subject to an interest charge of 3% above the base of England rate on the outstanding monies.
14. Builder’s waste is deemed to be waste generated by the contractor whilst carrying out building works and includes materials taken down or demolished by the contractor. If a skip is needed this will be stated and will need to be onsite for the commencement of work, GHM Joinery & Building Services Ltd can source a skip for the client and this will be chargeable.
15. Day rates will be set out on certain jobs and any extra labour will be charged at a day rate. Day rate for skilled labour is between £225 - £350 per day depending on the trade and a
labourer is £120 - £200 a day.
16. Full day labour will be charged if more than 4 hours have been worked including on site and collecting materials as there is no time to complete another job.
17. Unfortunately, if we are forced to stop work due to circumstances out of our control a full day’s labour will be charged no matter how many hours have been worked.
18. Any interference with works commencing via a none authorised 3rd party may result in a void of guarantee or works being cancelled.
19. GHM Joinery & Building Services Ltd has the right to terminate an agreed contract if the client is in breach of these terms and conditions.
20. We will endeavour to employ a helpful attitude at all times and will always attempt to bring the building works to a satisfactory conclusion as soon as possible taking into account weather conditions and availability of specialist materials and unforeseen circumstances etc.
21. All new product fitting work completed by GHM Joinery & Building Services Ltd is covered by a 12- month guarantee. We cannot offer a guarantee on second hand products or for work carried out by anyone other than GHM Joinery & Building Services Ltd employees.
22. Damage to works completed deemed to be caused by the client will not be guaranteed by GHM Joinery & Building Service Ltd.
23. Materials supplied will be guaranteed by the supplier for the amount of time that supplier stipulates in their terms and conditions.
24. All appliance warranty paperwork will be passed onto the client for registration. GHM Joinery & Building Services Ltd holds no responsibility for the registration of appliances.
25. The above terms and conditions apply to GHM Joinery & Building Services Ltd.
26. Please make sure you read and understand the terms and conditions set above as you agree to these terms and conditions by having GHM Joinery & Building Services Ltd carry out the works.
